The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), representing lakhs of cine workers, technicians, artists and other professionals associated with the Indian film and television industry, expresses its grave concern over the recent firing incident involving renowned actor Mr. Tiger Shroff, following earlier incidents of attacks and threats involving prominent personalities, including Mr. Salman Khan and filmmaker Mr. Rohit Shetty.

Such disturbing incidents have raised serious concerns regarding the safety and security of members of the film fraternity. FWICE believes that the protection of every individual working in the entertainment industry must be treated as a matter of utmost priority, and immediate precautionary measures must be implemented to prevent any untoward incidents at film sets, studios and shooting locations.

In view of these developments, FWICE has issued an advisory to all producers, production houses and filmmakers, urging them to exercise extreme caution while engaging personnel for their projects. FWICE strongly advises against the engagement of unknown, unidentified or unverified individuals without proper verification of their identities, backgrounds and professional credentials. Strict access-control procedures, proper maintenance of crew records and appropriate security arrangements must be ensured at every shooting location.

FWICE further appeals to all producers and production houses to give preference to skilled, experienced and verified industry professionals associated with its affiliated associations. As one of the oldest and largest organisations representing the workforce of the Indian film and television industry, FWICE has an established network of affiliated associations that maintain membership records and undertake prescribed scrutiny of applicants’ documentation and credentials.

Engaging verified professionals promotes accountability, discipline and professionalism while helping production houses maintain a more secure working environment. FWICE also emphasises that membership verification should be accompanied by appropriate independent security checks wherever necessary, and any suspicious activity or potential threat must be reported promptly to the concerned security and law enforcement authorities.

FWICE makes it clear that the safety of actors, directors, producers, technicians, artists, workers and every individual present at a shooting location is a collective responsibility. No compromise should be made when it comes to the protection of human life and the security of the film fraternity.

FWICE sincerely appeals to all producers, production houses, filmmakers and industry stakeholders to cooperate with the Federation and its affiliated associations in implementing these precautionary measures. A coordinated and responsible approach by all stakeholders is essential to ensure that the film and television industry remains a safe and secure workplace for everyone.

The safety of our film fraternity is paramount, and prevention through vigilance, verification and responsible engagement must be our collective priority.
