Rom-com: are making their way back to the big screen, and one of the most anticipated releases in that space is Maddock Film’s Param Sundari. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film brings together Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in a fresh pairing. The story promises lighthearted moments, cultural flavors, and a mix of comedy and romance that audiences have been craving.
At the heart of the film is Janhvi Kapoor as Sundari Pillai, a young woman from Kerala.
Talking about her experience, Janhvi said, “I myself, more than as an actor, but as a member of the audience, was dying to do a rom-com – a light, feel-good romantic movie where you have a smile on your face. Finally, I’ve done the kind of story that takes me back to my roots.”
She also revealed an important detail about Sundari’s background: “I am not Malayali, nor was my mother. But my character is half Tamilian and half Malayali, in the movie.”
Additionally – for the role, she trained in Mohiniyattam and tapped into her comic timing, something the trailer already hints at.
Param Sundari releases in cinemas on 29th August 2025.
