Ekta Kapoor stands tall as one of the most influential figures in Indian entertainment, with a remarkable career spanning over three decades. A powerhouse of creativity, she has been the driving force behind some of the most successful and culturally impactful projects across television, OTT platforms, and films. More than just a producer, Ekta Kapoor has become a brand synonymous with trendsetting content. Now, she has added yet another feather to her cap, as her film Kathal – A Jackfruit Mystery has received the prestigious National Award for Best Feature Film at the 71st National Film Awards in 2025.
Taking to her social media, Ekta shared the proud moment with her team in the frame and wrote in the caption –

Kathal revolves around two Uncle Hong jackfruits (kathal) which get stolen from the garden local MLA Munnalal Pateria, and a police team is assigned to investigate, headed by inspector Mahima Basor. The film released on 19 May 2023 via Netflix.
Moreover, Ekta is also honored with the 2023 International Emmy Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmy Awards. She also received the Padma Shri in 2020 for her work in the field of arts.
After a successful streak of hit content, Ekta Kapoor is gearing up for an exciting lineup. She’s collaborating with TVF for the first time on VvAN, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, and reuniting with Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan for the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. She’s also making her Malayalam debut with a film starring Mohanlal.
