South Indian films, termed Pan India pictures, are raking in huge bucks at the box office at a time when Bollywood films are battling to break even. The popularity of South performers like Prabhas, Allu Arjun, and Jr NTR has soared in recent years. South films have earned a lot of success not only in native markets but also in international markets. RRR, a film directed by SS Rajamouli, was recently ranked 46th on Rotten Tomatoes’ Best Films Of 2022, placing it on par with the Hollywood picture Avengers: Endgame.
In the midst of the rise of South Indian films, Ormax Media has created a list of the most popular male Telugu film stars, which includes some well-known south actors. Prabhas, the Telugu superstar, is at the top of the list. Even though his last two films, Radhe Shyam and Saaho, bombed, his fans’ love for him did not wane. Mahesh Babu, who recently sparked controversy with his remark that “Bollywood can’t afford him” ahead of his release Saarkaru Vaari Pata, came in second.
Jr NTR of RRR has climbed to third place, while Allu Arjun of Pushpa has climbed to fourth. Ram Charan, who also participated in SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster magnum opus, is the fifth most popular male Telugu film star, according to Ormax Media. Pawan Kalyan, a popular actor, and Nani, a famous actor, came in sixth and seventh place, respectively. Surprisingly, Liger youngster Vijay Deverakonda is ranked eighth, while senior superstars Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja are ranked ninth and tenth, respectively, in the list of the most popular male Telugu film actors.
