Kangana Ranaut’s recent film Dhakaad was a misery for one and all. The film did not fetch any crowd or money. There have been rumours that the film’s director Deepak Mukut was financially broke after the film’s release. He got into a situation wherein he had to sell his office to repay his loans. A report on hindustantimes.com talked about it and we take reference from that story for our write up here.

Deepak clarified in an interview about parting with his office for paying dues, “These are baseless rumours and absolutely wrong. I have already recovered maximum loss and whatever is left will be recovered in the due course.” T

Speaking about the film’s performance at the box office, he said, “We had made Dhaakad with a lot of conviction and it was a very well-made film. I don’t know what went wrong but I would like to believe that it’s people’s choice, what they accept and what they not and what they want to watch as well. But according to us, we feel proud to have made a good, female-led spy action thriller, a genre less explored, with good conviction.”

Well this will surely be a learning experience for the director!!
