Prabhas will play Lord Rama in the forthcoming film Adipurush, directed by Om Raut of Tanhaji fame. The film is a modern-day rendition of the legendary Ramayana, and it stars Prabhas in yet another pan-Indian production. Adipurush, like most of his films, will be big on budget and VFX-heavy. The film concluded filming early this year and is presently in post-production.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the budget for Adipurush is Rs 500 crore, making it one of the most costly films in Indian cinema. According to Twitter rumors, Adipurush was created on a massive budget, as previously said, and Prabhas was paid Rs 100 crore as his fee for the film. Given his prominence and pan-India appeal, such a large compensation is hardly surprising.

A tweet from Umair Sandhu, a UAE-based critic, sparked concern about Adipurush’s budget and Prabhas’ wages. “Officially, #Adipurush is the most expensive film in India right now. It was completed on a budget of 500 crores. #Prabhas charged Rs 100 crore for the film (sp),” He tweeted about it.

The Rs 500 crore budget for Adipurush was revealed by producer Bhushan Kumar himself in an interview. On January 12, 2023, the film will be released. Meanwhile, Prabhas will be seen alongside Shruti Haasan in Salaar. Prashanth Neel, well known for his work on KGF, is directing the film, and Prabhas will portray a dark and aggressive character. He is also working on Spirit alongside Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Maruthi is also working with the Saaho actress on Raja Deluxe, which will have three female stars. Prabhas was most recently seen in the flop box office movie Radhe Shyam.
