Reminiscing our childhood days, and also to be able to rewind back to those days, is truly a blessing! Yes, blessing! For not all childhood stories remain intact with you as you grow up, and whenever we look upto those beautiful stories around about their childhoods, our eyes get welled up. That’s that, the H-town’s gorgeous Alicia Keys is here with her beautiful childhood story down the line, and we aren’t stopping to get butterflies as we read her story.

The star shared some unseen pictures from her childhood apartment, looking absolutely cute in her Christmas pyjamas, with a huge decorated Christmas tree by the side. Sharing the pictures, Keys recall on the past memories she had in there and how she was raised by her mother in the same condo.

Sharing the pictures, Alicia Keys wrote, “Wow! This is the one bedroom apartment that my mother raised me in! Apt #11-L. I’ll never forget. The building wouldn’t give us a 2 bedroom cause I was a girl ??? so the room was sometimes my mothers, sometimes mine, most of the time ours (depending on my age)”

She added, “Every Christmas we put the tree right there in that corner in our small but cozy living room and we would decorate it together, just the 2 of us, while she played jazz albums on a record player. I’ll never forget that night before anticipation and how excited I was about what surprises might come in the night . And I’ll never forget those roller skates I was dyin’ for them so I could skate on those hard concrete New York City Streets!!”

She concluded, “Awww look at lil Alicia. I send that girl such big love. I thank her for still living in me and keeping me full of wonder and curiosity! Share your memories with me….. I love y’all!”

Here take a look-

Taking note Chelesa Handler wrote, “Send all our little selves love. If only we knew how much happiness was coming our way!!!”

A fan wrote, “I too raised by a single mother and remember our Christmas traditions. When I speak fondly of them with her she always seems amazed and says do you not remember how poor we were? I can honestly say I do not. There were always presents under the tree and food on the table. Who cares if my winter coat came up to my mid-forearm. Cheers to the single mothers making the most for their children.”

Another commented, “Hi Alicia! 5 of us lived in a one bedroom for several years after coming to America from Italy. We didn’t have much but my Papa always made sure we had a tree with all the trimmings and fish for Christmas Eve. Those were hard times and yet some of my best.”

Well, isn’t it a blessing to read such wonderful stories by strangers? That’s the beauty of social media we think! Tell us about your childhood days in comments-
