Rosé, a member of BLACKPINK, has launched a solo career and achieved two new Guinness World Records with her first single “On The Ground.”

On March 27, the Korean-New Zealand vocalist topped both the Global Billboard 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. US charts, having previously topped the Global Excl. US chart as a member of BLACKPINK with bandmates Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa with “Lovesick Girls.”

As a result, she is the first artist to achieve number one on a Billboard Global chart both as a soloist and as part of a group.

On the same day, the music video for “On The Ground” debuted on YouTube, where it quickly became the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist, with 41.6 million views.

It broke PSY’s previous record of 36 million views for the international smash “Gangnam Style.”

BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 and swiftly rose to fame.

They’ve smashed a number of records, most notably for one of their greatest singles, “How You Like That.”

Rosé, actual name Roseanne Park, was the band’s final addition, arriving barely two months before their first album Square One.

The band has received several honors, including a People’s Choice Award, a Teen Choice Award, and an MTV Video Music Award.

They have previously held Guinness World Records for the most seen YouTube video in 24 hours and the most viewed music video in 24 hours, however, these records are currently held by fellow K-pop band BTS for their smash track “Dynamite.”

Congratulations to Rosé on her great success; who knows, this might be just the beginning of her record-breaking solo career!
