K-pop, often known as Korean popular music, has captivated the world. Since its debut in the middle of the 1990s, this musical subgenre has given rise to a number of well-known bands, propelling it to the top of contemporary culture. You’re probably aware of some of the most well-known K-pop performers, like BTS, Blackpink, and SEVENTEEN. Some of the most infectious, well-liked bops of the previous couple of decades have been created by groups like the ones described above and in the list below.

BTS

BTS, a South Korean boy band that was formerly known as the Bangtan Boys, achieved enormous success after making its debut in 2013. BTS made history in 2017 by becoming the first Korean band to perform at the American Music Awards and the first Asian to win Artist of the Year in addition to having four No. 1 albums and five consecutive No. 1 singles.

Blackpink

As the first K-pop girl band to perform at Coachella in 2019 and as the highest-charting female K-pop group on Billboard Hot 100. Blackpink, a four-member K-pop girl group, created history.

Seventeen

SEVENTEEN, one of the top stars in K-pop, has 13 members and three units. The former Seventeen Magazine cover stars boast more than 10 million albums sold and over 2 billion streams.

Big Bang

As a result of the television show Big Bang Documentary, BIGBANG was produced in 2006. The five-piece with R&B influences became well-known for many years as one of the most well-liked K-pop acts of the 2000s. Due to South Korea’s requirement that all citizens serve in the military, members of the group enlisted in the service in 2017.

Red Velvet

In 2014, the four-person K-pop female group released “Happiness” as their first song. Red Velvet’s Ice Cream Cake became the best-selling album on South Korea’s Hanteo chart when a new member was introduced to the group in 2015. The Red Flavor, the group’s third chart-topping album, arrived at No. 1 on the Billboard World Albums list in 2017. As the first K-pop girl group to launch with three No. 1 albums on the World Albums Chart, they made music history.

Twice

As a component of the Sixteen competition survival show, Twice was established. In October 2015, they issued their first EP, The Story Begins. The debut music video for any K-pop group with the most views was “Like Ooh-Ahh,” which received 50 million views on YouTube.
