Raftaar is one of the popular artists of Bollywood he is. Let’s have an insight into some of his unknown facts:

Raftaar’s real name is Dilin Nair. He was born in Kerala in the year 1988. His ethnicity is Malayali. He is an only child and loves speaking openly about his family. Raftaar comes from a middle-class family, his father was a cleaner at the railways and his mother was a typist.

Raftaar began his career as a dancer. He got started on the reality show called DID Doubles with Manik in 2011. He loved to rap from a very early age. He formed a crew called Black Wall Street Desis with Lil Golu and Ikka Singh, initially known as Young Amli.

Raftaar spent his savings and pocket money for recording and travel when he began taking dance classes in Delhi charging, 150 per kid. They used to put their tracks on Orkut, it aspired many young and inexperienced rap artists of the country.

He once got a call from Honey Singh and Raftaar mentioned, “People didn’t know his face at the time”, but knew his name for a couple of hits.

Raftaar collaborated over songs with Honey Singh and one of them was the famous “Dope Shope” which was a super hit. This track led to grudges between the two and Raftaar mentioned that “I wrote most of Dope Shope and was promised that I’d be given my due. When the final product appeared, Honey appeared all over the video, even singing lines that I’d sung.”

In the year 2012, Raftaar parted and began producing tracks as a solo artist. Then, in the very same year, he did “Bottle” with Deep Money which opened the gates of stardom for him. He was awarded with the Indian Rapper of the Year Award.
