The two most powerful and influential music companies of the world are joining forces to find the next superstar boy band. Universal Music Group and K-pop record label Big Hit Entertainment will be teaming up for a US TV talent show as a platform to discover the new superstar boy band.

According to Yahoo News, Big Hit Entertainment has decided to collaborate with Universal Music Group, the two companies will assemble and debut a K-pop boy band in the US.

Universal Music Group has said that the members of the group will be selected through a global audition program which is scheduled to air next year. The new band will release music under a new label which will operate from LA.

The new K-pop group will work based on the usual K-pop system including music, performance, fashion, music video, and communications with fans.

Both Universal Music Group and Big Hit will divide their task for the smooth running of the new project that they have undertaken.
