Murali Mohapatra aka Khoka Bhai, the name that Odia vouched by for his mellifluous voice and classical drills is no more. The legendary singer collapsed on stage while performing on stage. According to reports, he was performing at an event in Odisha’s Jeypore town on Sunday night. Soon after he collapsed on stage while performing, the singer was rushed to the hospital, however, was declared dead. He was only 59.

As per reports online, Mohapatra was performing in an exclusive show organised in Rajnagar, Koraput district for Durga Puja. He performed a few numbers of songs at the event and then he sat on his chair listening to other singers performing when he collapsed.

The singer, after that was rushed to the hospital soon, but the doctors declared him there dead, his family sources said. His elder brother Bibhuti mentioned that Murali has been suffering from heart problems and diabetes for a long time.
