A well-known Malayalam Mappilappattu and playback singer, Nisar Wayanad, died in Dubai on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Reportedly, the singer was hospitalized and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dubai. A native of Kambalakkad in Wayanad, the singer went to Dubai for a native event last month and was hospitalized after he fell ill.

As per reports, Nisar was scheduled to perform in Saudi Arabia and Dubai in the coming days. The singer is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Born in Kambalakkad, Wayanad district, Kerala, Nisar Wayanad’s real name is Nissar Aroth Ibrahim. He is known for Mappilapattu (traditional Kerala folk songs) and live stage performances covering Bollywood hits. He has lent his voice to several successful musical albums in Kannada films.

The singer has been in the music industry for years and is best known for his vocals, which are similar to those of the popular Bollywood singer Udit Narayan. Nisar also worked on the unfinished Malayalam movie project Professor Dinkan.
