Seventeen is a South-Korean boy band group. The group was formed by Pledis Entertainment. The band consists of 13 members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. They debuted in 2015. They perform as a group, but they are divided into 3 units based as: ‘Hip-Hop Team’, ‘Vocal Team’, and ‘Performance Team’. Their first full-length studio album Love & Letter was released in 2016. The band has won many Awards and Nominations for their music, including awards like Asia Artist Awards, Gaon Chart Music Awards, and Golden Disc Awards.
The group is nicknamed various names like; “Performance Kings”, “Theatre Kids of K-pop”, and “K-pop Performance Powerhouse”. The name of the group can be explained as “13 members + 3 units + 1 group”, together they represent Seventeen.
Since their debut, they have received worldwide recognition and praise and have appeared regularly in broadcasts of a show called Seventeen TV on the online streaming platform UStream. No wonder the boys have gained a huge female fan following globally.
