Asha Bhosle is renowned for her soprano voice range and for her versatility. She has done playback singing in thousands of movies. Her work includes film music, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis and Rabindra Sangeets. She was noted by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2011, as the most recorded artist in music history, for singing 12000 songs. She was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 by the government of India.

And the elder sister of the music sensation Asha Bhosle is the most adored Lata Mangeshkar. She has recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages. She is known as the Nightingale of India, and is the second vocalist, after M. S. Subbulakshmi, to receive the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 2001. The Government of India has also bestowed her with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989. In 2007, France conferred on her its highest civilian award (Officer of the Legion of Honour). She is the first Indian to perform in the Royal Albert Hall. Speaking so much about her awards is still less for this famous personality.

The two sisters have together gifted the nation with the love for music and will be in our hearts forever!
