On May 31, 2022, versatile playback singer KK (Krishnakumar Kunnath) died after a major heart attack. He was performing at Vivekananda College’s Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata. The devastating news shocked the country, particularly those born in the 1990s who grew up listening to KK’s hit tunes. The vocalist injected life into every line of the song lyrics, whether it was Yaaron from his album Pal or Dil kyu ye mera from the film Kites.
