Hitman Rohit Sharma has silenced the rumors surrounding his retirement with his fierce century at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday, July 19, in the daunting chase of 388 against England in the series-deciding third ODI. After the cricketer’s slow performances in a couple of matches, reports surfaced that the third ODI might be his last match. While BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia quashed these reports, Rohit’s massive score of 138 is a befitting reply to those who doubted the cricketer’s capabilities.

Despite Rohit’s power performance on the field yesterday, the team couldn’t secure enough for the victory. However, the cricketer’s performance sends a clear message that it’s not the moment to raise a helmet.

Amid that, Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh was seen getting emotional as the cricketer scored a century. What caught our attention was the moment when Rohit acknowledged Ritika’s emotions, sending her a flying kiss.

In contrast, while reacting to the rumors, Rohit said, My job is with the bat. Come and play, represent my country. That’s what I have been told to do since I made my debut. That’s what I am going to do. Since I made my debut, the noise was there. Till the time I am going to be there, the noise will be there. It doesn’t matter to me. What matters is what I do on the field. I want to try and contribute to the success of the team. That’s all my focus is. And also added, “If there is no noise, there is no fun. My job is inside. Their job is outside. That’s how I look at it.”
