Serbian Tennis Player Novak Djokovic, in his latest statement, credited all the critics who doubted him, thanking them for motivating him to do better. The sportsperson performed incredibly to defeat Jannik Sinner, the No. 2 and two-time defending champion, securing his place in the Australian Open final.
The sportsperson is set to contest his 11th Australian Open final and 38th grand slam final overall on Sunday. Also, Novak is the oldest Australian Open men’s finalist in history.
Reacting to his performance, Novak Djokovic said, “I never stopped believing in myself.”
Further he reflected on critics and doubters saying, “There’s a lot of people that doubt me. I see there is a lot of experts all of a sudden that wanted to retire me or have retired me many times the last couple of years.”
Thanking the doubters and critics in a humble yet befitting way, Novak said, “I want to thank them all, because they gave me strength. They gave me motivation to prove them wrong, which I have tonight. For me it’s not a surprise, to be honest. I know what I’m capable of.”
Novak will now face the No.1 Alcaraz, and speaking on his upcoming battle, he said, “I know I have to come back in less than a couple of days and fight the No 1 in the world. I just hope that I will have enough has to stay toe to toe with him. That’s my desire, then let the gods decide the winner.”
