The former Indian cricket star Shikhar Dhawan, along with his long-time girlfriend Sophie Shine, made their engagement official on the 12th of January, 2026, through an emotional joint Instagram post. The couple intends to have their wedding in the Delhi-NCR area during the third week of February 2026.
To announce their engagement, Dhawan and Shine posted on social media a photo of their rings and a banner signed with the words, “The beginning of forever.” In the caption, they thanked everyone for the love and well wishes as they begin a journey together and look forward to their future together.
Shikhar Dhawan, sharing the photos on his official Instagram handle and collaborating with his lady love, wrote, “From shared smiles to shared dreams. Grateful for the love, the blessings and every good wish for our engagement as we choose togetherness forever.”

Sophie Shine is an Irish citizen with a corporate career; she has a degree in Marketing and Management. She is employed at the Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She is also the president of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, which is the charitable wing of Dhawan’s estate.
Shikhar and Sophie reportedly crossed paths in Dubai, and their friendship soon turned into a romantic relationship. They went public with their love via an Instagram post in May 2025 and have been cohabiting for more than a year now. Sophie has been spotted at cricket matches cheering for Dhawan.
