Chris Gayle, the second greatest run-scorer on the list, is one of the most destructive batsmen in the game. Gayle has hammered 920 runs in 26 innings throughout six World Cup appearances. He’s also reached two centuries.

Tillakaratne Dilshan, the former captain of the cricket team of Sri Lanka, is one of the best run chasers ever. He has scored a total of 897 runs across the 34 innings he has played in six world cups.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is number four on the list, the only player on the list. Virat has scored a total of 777 runs in 16 matches that he has played.

Fifth on the list is South Africa’s ace batsman Ab de Villiers. Across the six world cups that he has been a part of, he has gained a total of 717 runs.
