With their couture outfits, the celebrities added a touch of glitz to the red carpet. ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ is the subject of the Met Gala 2021. It will be held to commemorate the Costume Institute’s 75th anniversary and to showcase modern American fashion. Serena Williams, the 23-time grand-slam champion, came at the event in a dazzling pink-feathered cape, in keeping with the theme. It was stitched on a bodysuit that she wore.
Serena Williams was joined by her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, on the red carpet. The tennis player wore a Gucci stitched silver-colored bodysuit with flower designs on the front. The 39-year-old sported a large feathered ombre cape with a flow of pink color running descending over the outfit. She completed the look with a matched pair of silver platform shoes and a bag. Her husband, on the other hand, wore a black tuxedo with a white bow tie.
Alexis Ohanian posted a couple of images from the event with Serena on Instagram. He was also spotted allowing Serena to pose for shots while adoringly looking at her. The entrepreneur revealed in the post that he wore a crypto punk of his wife to the occasion. He also included a photo of Serena with the punk. “Serena served a royal appearance tonight,” he wrote. “I decided to bring a #Cryptopunk of my wife to the #MetGala (that I bought for her). WAGMI.” In the comments area, the couples’ followers greeted them with affection. “The way he looks at her,” one of them remarked, referring to Ohanian’s gaze on Serena.
The Met Gala 2021 had some spectacular red carpet looks. Kim Kardashian wore an all-black ensemble, while Jennifer Lopez went monochrome with a brown gown and accessories. Keke Palmer wore a low-back shimmering seamless gown. With feathery sleeves and a white and brown-colored gown, Ilana Glazer was one of the best-dressed celebs at the event. At the event, Bee Carrozzini wore a green outfit to show off her baby belly.
