Floyd Mayweather is unquestionably a man who will not be forgotten any time soon. Outside of the ring, the 15-time world champion continues to make news, having made an unofficial return to the ring against Logan Paul in an exhibition battle back in June. Not least in terms of bling, but even by his own high standards, Mayweather’s outlay on one particular item will be hard to beat. Back in 2018, when Mayweather proudly unveiled ‘The Billionaire Watch’ on Instagram, the 44-year-old claimed he had spent a whopping $18 million on the new diamond-encrusted toy. Mayweather posted on Instagram, “This is my new timepiece, it’s named ‘The Billionaire Watch'”.

Mayweather claimed to have purchased the clock from Tadashi Fukushima, whom he referred to as “the best jeweler in the world.” With 260 carats of emerald-cut diamonds and individual stones weighing up to 3 carats, it’s difficult to argue with Jacob & Co’s 12.3 mm thick, 58 x 47.5 mm diameter design. Mayweather was so taken with his purchase that he said he would never buy a watch from anyone else. “The Billionaire fully epitomizes the brand’s zeal for breaking limits,” Jacob & Co. said of their distinctive design, which is perhaps suitable given Mayweather’s sporting legacy.

Mayweather, who led Forbes’ list of highest-paid sportsmen three years ago, isn’t afraid to make extravagant expenditures. He does, after all, have an iced-out charm bracelet, a stack of ten Hermes Birkin bags, and a Phantom Rolls Royce in his portfolio. Mayweather previously possessed a $2.6 million sports car, one of the world’s fastest, and earlier this year committed to give away one of his cherished Ferraris as part of a new ‘undefeated’ game with a U.S. betting company. Mayweather appears to have little regard for money, but as he gazes at his most expensive toy yet, anything else may struggle to compete with his gleaming possession.
