Axar Patel, a Gujarati bowling all-rounder, has put in some incredible bowling performances. Axar is currently playing for the DC squad in the IPL 2022.

1. 4/21 vs Gujarat Lions
Axar Patel’s best bowling performance in the IPL occurred to be the only time he managed to bring up a four-wicket haul. In 2016, Kings XI Punjab and Gujarat Lions met at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Punjab just scored 154 runs and needed a bowling performance to match.

Patel capitalized on the groundwork and intruded on Dwayne Smith in his first over after the bowlers gave Punjab a solid start. At the same over, he fired both Dinesh Karthik and Dwayne Bravo. He then picked up Ravindra Jadeja’s wicket four overs later to put the icing on the cake for the Lions.

2. 3/11 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
The most recent appearance is against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017, which says volumes about Patel’s decline since the 2017 season. Kings XI Punjab’s batting line-up struggled miserably on the batting-friendly M. Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch in this encounter. They only managed to score 138 runs.

The chances of Virat Kohli’s team scoring less than 139 runs were slim to none, but Patel accomplished the unthinkable. Bangalore got off to a shaky start in their innings but recovered quickly. With the dismissal of Kedar Jadhav, Patel dealt them a setback just as they were attempting to mount a comeback. He bowled Australian veteran Shane Watson back to the pavilion in three overs. Patel finished his three-wicket haul by deceiving fellow spinner Samuel Badree.

3. 3/24 vs Rajasthan Royals
Returning to 2014, we can see what a fantastic season it was for both Kings XI Punjab and Axar Patel. In this game against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab batted first and put up a fantastic total of 179. The Royals got off to a rough start in the chase, but they eventually regained their stride.
The Royals were propelled to win by a partnership between Brad Hodge and Rahul Tewatia. Patel saved the day once more, dismissing both hitters in consecutive overs. He later added to his wicket count by dismissing tail-ender Kevon Cooper’s batsman.

4. 2/11 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
Punjab hosted Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IS Bindra Stadium in 2015. The game was trimmed to 10 overs per innings due to rain. Punjab put up a valiant 106, but Bangalore’s powerful batting lineup was expected to chase it down.Axar Patel was the one who put a halt to it by taking two key wickets. He defeated Mr 360° AB de Villiers first, and then dismissed Mandeep Singh, who was looking like a serious threat with his 13-ball 20. In addition, he only let up 11 runs in his two overs.

5. 2/11 vs Kolkata Knight Riders
The XI of the Kings Punjab’s IPL experience has been abysmal thus far. Except for the amazing season of 2014, they had never been strong favorites to win the cup. Punjab made it to the final thanks to George Bailey’s captaincy and Axar Patel’s skill. Punjab met Kolkata Knight Riders in the first Qualifier, which they lost. KKR’s skipper Gautam Gambhir was quickly replaced, but Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa put together a good 65-run partnership. Patel finally broke the tie by dismissing both batters in the same inning. Punjab was able to limit Kolkata to only 163 people, but they were unable to track it down.

In his IPL career, Axar has put up some incredible bowling performances.
