The franchises are giving it their all as the 15th season of the IPL enters its climax period. The batters and bowlers have indeed delivered some thrilling performances. As the tournament progresses, enthusiasts will be wishing to see these kinds of great performances.

We’ve seen some incredible performances, from KL Rahul’s century to Wanindu Hasaranga’s bowling. Aside from all these players, some have failed to adhere to their franchises’ expectations and have yet to prove their worth in the tournament.

Daniel Sams

The Mumbai Indians selected the ferocious Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams in the 2022 mega bidding. His outstanding performances in the Big Bash League (BBL) garnered him a contract with the Mumbai Indians (MI) for the princely sum of INR 2.60 crore. Even so, his effectiveness in the IPL 2022 was well below par. He’s been ineffectual with the swing, having scored only seven runs in the first three games. He has struggled to maintain the Mumbai Indians’ faith in him. Sams tried to bring in as a substitute for Trent Boult, but he was unable to compensate for the Kiwi pacer’s absence.

Rovman Powell

The Delhi Capitals signed Rovman Powell, a strong all-rounder from the West Indies, in the 2022 huge auction. His hard-hitting abilities and productive bowling caught the attention of the team, earning him a contract worth INR 2.80 crore. Nevertheless, he has only performed poorly so far in the tournament. The Delhi selectors chose him in the hopes of reinforcing their batting lineup as well as their bowling unit. However, he has fallen short in both departments. His poor gameplay in the tournament has made him the underperformer of the IPL 2022 pick for the Delhi Capitals.

Devon Conway

Devon Conway was also drafted into the 2022 IPL by the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings for a reasonable fee of INR 1 crore. His consistent excellence for New Zealand garnered him the deal. But he hasn’t been given a chance since the season opener against KKR when he ceased to make an impact. He has only scored three runs in the eight balls he has got to play so far in the game. Conway has not been given enough opportunities because CSK has a very good lead with both batsmen in good form. This reduces his chances of getting some other chance to play in the yellow jersey.

Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane, the former vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, was scooped up by the Kolkata Knight Riders after already being removed by the Delhi Capitals prior to the 2022 mega auction. Due to his notoriety and track record as a decent middle-order batsman, KKR offered him a contract worth INR 1 crore. However, he has been a letdown for the Knight Riders so far in the contest.
