Bengali Filmmaker Anik Dutta Dies Allegedly By Suicide; Abir Chatterjee & Others Mourn His Demise

Bengali filmmaker Anik Dutta passes away, allegedly by suicide. As per the reports, the award-winning director died after falling from the roof of a six-story residential building at Hindustan Park near Gariahat on Wednesday, May 28, 2026. Following this, he was rushed to a private hospital at 1.15 in the afternoon, but upon arrival at the hospital, the director was declared dead. Reportedly, Anik died by suicide as per the handwritten one-page letter found on the terrace.
