Broadband is critical for a fast and stable internet connection. With the majority of people now working from home, the demand for this has grown even more. The crucial thing to understand is that we’re talking about the speed of your internet connection, not your Wi-Fi network. To put it another way, it’s the link between your provider and your home, not the router and your phone. If the latter is the case, here’s how to speed up Wi-Fi, which includes suggestions like shifting your router to the optimum location and switching to powerline adapters instead of Wi-Fi.

If you discover that your internet connection is slow, the first thing you should do is check to see if the problem is with your laptop, phone, or tablet. Try loading the same web page on multiple devices to check whether one or both are slow. If it’s just one, you’ve ruled out a problem with your entire broadband system. If your router is slow, try shutting it off and leaving it off for a few minutes. If there isn’t an on/off switch, carefully remove the power cord out of the rear of the machine and then plug it back in after a minute.

Sometimes, as with most computers, the best answer is to simply turn it off and on. You’ll have to wait a few minutes for it to fully reboot, but this usually allows the router time to figure things out on its own. The next step is to see whether there are any broadband problems in your area that are affecting a large number of individuals. If your ISP or line isn’t the problem, your router could be the culprit. Many have self-diagnostic software in their options that you can check out to see if it uncovers any problems.
