For television viewers, chemistry can make or break a love story. On Colors TV’s captivating drama Shayad Yahi Hai Pyaar, the on-screen magic between Preeti (played by seasoned actor Aditi Dev Sharma) and Aarav (portrayed by newcomer Daksh Puri) has been a major talking point.
Bringing years of rich acting experience to the table, Aditi recently opened up about what it was like sharing screen space with Daksh, who is facing the cameras for the very first time.
Despite the gap in their industry experience, Aditi admits that their professional journey together started on remarkably equal footing—fueled by shared jitters. “When I met him for the first time during our mock shoot, I was quite nervous because I was doing a mock after two and a half years. He was obviously nervous too, as it was his very first show. I honestly didn’t want to ruin his audition just because of my own nervousness!”
That initial tension, however, melted away instantly. Aditi praises Daksh’s innate screen presence, noting how effortless it was for them to bridge the gap and build a strong rapport. “He is a very natural actor. There are some people you meet, and connecting with them is just easy and flowing. We didn’t put any effort into connecting; when we got talking, we simply got talking.”
Reflecting on his demeanour, Aditi highlights a maturity that belies his newcomer status, predicting a massive future for her young co-star.
“He is quite mature for his age, and we could easily get into deep conversations. He is definitely going to be a star—he is a star actually!!. He’s natural, and he knows how to handle praise.”
When discussing Daksh’s creative process, Aditi draws an intriguing parallel to elite athletes, emphasising his healthy, self-driven competitive streak and his grounded receptiveness. “His approach towards acting is unique—it’s like a sportsman’s approach where he strictly competes with himself. He is very confident, takes inputs from everyone openly, and yet ultimately follows his own instinct. He is so clear about so many things, even though this is literally his first project.”
Aditi sums up the joy of working alongside fresh talent, saying, “It’s a wonderful process working with someone who doesn’t carry any baggage. I am thoroughly enjoying it. He is a wonderful person, and he is definitely going to go places.”
