Popular television actress Chhavi Pandey, who has entertained masses in shows like Tera Kya Hoga Alia, Kaal Bhairav Rahasya, Ladies Special 2 and Prem Bandhan, is currently seen playing the role of Goddess Laxmi in Sony Sab’s new show Shubh Laabh- Aapkey Ghar Mein.

The show follows the journey of Savita, a housewife and a true devotee of Goddess Lakshmi, who feels the constant urge and responsibility to save her entire family from an impending downfall. Savita leaves no stone unturned to change their poor fate and expects a miracle from Goddess to save her from her struggles. Goddess Lakshmi takes on a human avatar, lands on Earth to enter Savita’s life and guide her towards a journey of self-transformation. In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Chhavi spoke about her new character, show, and more.

How does it feel to be part of a show like Shubh Laabh- Aapkey Ghar Mein?

I have always wanted to do a show on Sony SAB, this is one of the reasons I accepted the show. The show’s concept is edgy, and I am getting an opportunity to portray the divine character of Maa Laxmi. The audience will get to witness a whole new element and concept. I believe there are very few actors who get the opportunity to play different characters on the television screen. So, it’s a wonderful feeling for me to be associated with the show Shubh Laabh- Aapkey Ghar Mein.

What do you like the most about your character?

This character has grace, and she is divine. Through this show, I have got an opportunity to entertain and share a message with the viewers that we need to put effort and commitment towards achieving anything in our lives. I think this is the reason which makes my character stand out. I am here to give people a message on how we can walk the path of self-transformation and try to find a balance between devotion and self-resilience in our daily lives.  I believe this is something I admire the most about my character.

What are your expectations from your role?

I do believe that people will surely connect with the unique and inspiring concept of the show and my character of Laxmi Maa is crafted beautifully to make people understand the importance of karma in their lives. Laxmi Maa will play a guiding light for Savita in her transformative journey on the show. It offers a lot more than entertainment, it is relatable, it’s full of learnings, and sends out a thoughtful message.

Any challenges you faced while getting into the skin of the character?

As an actor, it’s the most challenging character for me to portray on screen because this Maa Laxmi is not the one that people have always watched on television or in films. I believe as an actor, I can either be natural or restricted since I am playing the role of a Goddess, but this role asks for a balance between the two and the thin line should not be crossed. So, I prepare every day for my character.

How is your working experience with the cast?

I am immensely fortunate to have the best team and co-stars to work with and I feel it is important to have a cast you get along with and where the energies match as it helps deliver our best work.   The vibe of the set and equation amongst us is amazing. I am learning something new every day from them, be it from Nasirr ji or Geetanjali ji.

Finally, your message to your fans…

I don’ want to be preachy about the show and would want my fans and viewers to watch the show for its wonderful concept. It is teamwork and we have worked hard for this, so I just want to tell my fans that it is an effort by Sony SAB, the makers of the show, and the artists to bring something new for our audience. So, I hope our audiences will keep loving us and showering us with loads of love.
