Drishtii Garewal who is seen in Choti Sarrdaarni talks of her pleasant experience being with the show.

I have bagged all the ‘instant fame’ with Choti Sarrdaarni: Drishtii Garewal

Drishtii Garewal who essays the role of Aditi in Colors’ popular show Choti Sarrdaarni is happy and satisfied with her first ever TV stint!!

Drishtii who is predominantly a Punjabi film actress took up the role in Choti Sarrdaarni owing to the delay in her film projects.

Says Drishtii, “I had a six months break, as my films were slated to start only in 2021. So when this offer of Choti Sarrdaarni came my way, I was eager to work for the TV show.”

“When it all started, Aditi was a negative character and I was excited to play this phase. In the Punjabi films that I have done, I have never played a negative character. So I was excited about it. Later on, the character grew and now Aditi is positive, having become a part of the Gill family,” she says.

For Drishtii, she had the first-hand experience on many things with the show. “My costumes in my films were very different. So I got to wear a saree for the first time for the show. Take the look, the costume and even the role, all was totally a new experience for me.”

Talking of her film career, she states, “I have done 12 films so far. During the lockdown, there was no shoot happening for films. I have a film to be released with Diljit Dosanjh titled Jodi. It was to release in June this year, but the pandemic break changed the plan.”

On this experience she adds on, “An actor will certainly improve a lot if he/she works for television. This has been more of a workshop for me and I have learned  lot of things. The film releases much later after the shoot and by the time, the film releases, the actor is into his next character.”

“In a film, you get all the time to get into the character, shoot and get out of it. In TV, you are working everyday, and people get to look at your work as it happens. Television is all about instant fame and I enjoyed this phase.”

Drishtii shares her heartfelt fan reaction saying, “I have a fan who fed the poor on my birthday. I was so touched when I heard of it. It felt as though I achieved whatever I had not got in films. So yes, when I came in to do this role in Choti Sarrdaarni, I came in only for six months. I will have to get back to my films which are my prior commitments. But I have to tell you that the experience of working for TV has been great. I have enjoyed a lot in these three months.”

On future projects, Drishtii says, “I have the film with Diljit. I have also signed for two films. So I will soon be back to it.”
