How has your journey been with Mangal Lakshmi? Describe the past and the present happening track?
My journey in Mangal Lakshmi has been great so far. I have learned a lot from this experience. I have got a lot of love and appreciation from the show. The past and present tracks in the show have been very different. Ishana’s whole identity has changed now; she is not the daughter of the house anymore. This track has given me exposure to improve my acting, learn emoting, etc. This is a difficult phase as a performer, but I am improving as well.
Performing as an actor at such a young age, how does it feel for you?
I feel blessed as I am getting to learn so much at this young age. I know that I will be able to use all this learning in the coming years as I grow as a performer. I want to use this opportunity to improve myself.
Do you think it comes with its pros and cons? Explain both scenarios.
There are a lot of pros, but there are some cons too. The positive aspect is that I learn every day. As an actor, I am developing myself, I am gaining clarity on what I should do with my career. The cons are that I am not able to enjoy my life like other kids. I don’t have my full family with me. So I miss my family, friends and living in my place. But yes, this is a different life altogether, and I am enjoying this phase.
On this special day for children, what is the special privilege you will aspire for?
The special privilege I aspire to is unlimited shopping and eating unlimited junk food.
If you are given the chance to change one rule in your school/set, what will it be?
I will change the 9 am – 9 PM shift. For kids, the schedule has to be from 9 am -7 pm, so that we get two hours for ourselves, where we have fun or study. So I would love to change this schedule (smiles).
How would you describe a perfect day for yourself?
A perfect day for me is a peaceful morning, with good music, a cup of coffee, and spending time with my people, gossiping.
What are your future goals?
(laughs) It is to rule Bollywood and Hollywood. I know it is a lot. But I believe that when goals are this big, there will be a vision to achieve something. So let’s see what I achieve in life.
What are your takeaways when it comes to being an actor at such a young age?
Being an actor at such a young age has taught me a lot of things – to be confident, hard-working, and never to stop learning. I have learnt that acting is not only about performance, it is about understanding emotions, people and life.
