Pratham Kunwar, who plays the lead role in Dangal TV‘s Jhallee, produced by Cockrow and Shaika Entertainment, is upbeat to begin the festivities and grand plans for the festival of lights, Diwali. Diwali is a festival that symbolises bliss, happiness, and positivity. One of the central traditions of this celebration is the lighting of lamps, which serves to highlight the significance of maintaining a positive outlook and embracing spirited energy throughout the festivities.
Talking about the festival, Pratham tells IWMBuzz.com, “Diwali has always been a very special festival for me. It is truly the biggest celebration in India. I don’t usually make any grand plans for it — for me, Diwali is about tradition. We perform Laxmi Puja at home, meet family and friends, and spend the night playing cards or fun games together. It is believed that Goddess Laxmi arrives on Diwali night, so we keep the door open and try to stay awake as long as possible to welcome prosperity and positivity into the home.”
Recalling the memories of childhood from the festival, he says, “When I think of my Diwali memories from childhood, I really miss those days. We used to live in Dadar back then, and I loved making rangoli with my sister. Every day, we would create a new design by hand — no stencils, no ready-made patterns like today — just pure creativity and effort. Bursting crackers with friends, going to Shivaji Park Chowpatty to light rockets, and celebrating with our society members were a big part of our Diwali. All the kids, elders, and neighbours would stay up the whole night making flower garlands for the next day’s puja, and we would even sleep on the terrace under the open sky. Those moments are truly unforgettable.”
On his plans for this year, Pratham says, “I really miss those simple and joyful days. This year, I will be shooting during Diwali, so it will be a working festival for me. But I am sure my co-actors and I will celebrate together like a family on set and make it special in our own way.”
Wishing our readers a very Happy Diwali!!
