Is this your first show on Sony SAB? How does it feel to be a part of the Sony SAB’s family?
Yes, this is my first proper show with Sony SAB. Though I hosted SAB Ke Anokhe Awards once and also made an appearance in Baalveer Returns, this is my first full-fledged show on Sony SAB that the audience can enjoy every weekend. I am glad to be a part of Sony SAB family, which aims to spread happiness in the lives of its viewers and fans.
Please tell us about the concept of the show- Funhit Mein Jaari.
FMJ will have short 3 minute gags based on different situations. Overall the show is a mixed bag of happiness, created to entertain all our audience. Funhit Mein Jaari, as the name suggests, will present a funny parody on some of the trending topics around us. The show is bound to entertain our audience with some lighthearted dose of comedy featuring some of the most talented actors. The show is extremely special for me because this is my first show post the lockdown phase.
How has the experience been so far working with the entire cast?
The entire cast had a lot of fun while shooting. All of us were shooting after a brief hiatus and the joy of coming back on the sets was evident on everybody’s face. We share a tremendous rapport since we have worked with each other in the past and I believe this has contributed to ensuring fun on the sets. The entire cast including Krushna, Mubeen, Jyoti, Jasmin, everyone has put in their 100% to entertain the audience and I genuinely believe the results can be seen once the first gag goes on-air starting August 22 on Sony SAB.
The show is produced by your husband. How was this experience? Is there an additional pressure to make it a hit?
Yes, the show is produced by H3 Entertainment and like always, I have enjoyed working with Haarsh. Speaking about pressure, the only thing that was in our minds was to ensure that we create a show that strikes a similar chord with the audiences like the way other Sony SAB shows have. Sony SAB is one of India’s most loved channel and through FMJ we have always tried to ensure that our dear audience love our content thoroughly.
Who came up with the name concept of this show?
Haarsh was in touch with Sony SAB for this concept, FMJ is our first project with Sony SAB and I am thankful to the channel for the tremendous support throughout this journey so far.
What can the viewers expect from Funhit Mein Jaari?
FMJ is our attempt to carefully bring happiness in people’s lives during these unprecedented times. The entire FMJ family has worked hard to create and deliver the content of the show, and I hope our fans love our shows and we succeed in spreading happiness in their lives.
Krushna and I have kind-of reunited after a long time. It is always a genuine pleasure working with Krushna, his comic timing and professionalism are impressive and it just adds to the delight of working with him.
Any favourite gag until now, that you would have shot?
Well, it is difficult to choose one as all of them pack an equal punch and delivers that right kind of entertainment to the audience. But if I have to choose a favourite, I would choose ‘Golu Haazir Ho’ and ‘Adventures of Rajmata (Baahubali)’ and fans will soon find out why.
Any message for the fans?
To all our fans and the viewers of Sony SAB, this past few months have been difficult for all us, hence we have aptly titled the show – Funhit Mein Jaari. I hope all our fans embrace our content and laud our efforts to bring happiness in everyone’s lives.
