Colors TV’s drama Seher Hone Ko Hai is pulling out all the stops for a major creative shift. With the character graph of the male protagonist, Mahid, taking a profound leap and the high-profile entry of Bhavika Sharma as the new Seher, the show is promising its viewers a completely refreshed narrative.
For lead actor Parth Samthaan, stepping into this altered reality has been nothing short of a reinvention. “It honestly looks and feels like I am doing a brand-new show,” he reveals, reflecting on the massive transitions taking place on set.
This change demands a complete overhaul of his demeanour, though his core remains intact. Mahid is a serious, intense character,” Parth explains. “Being a mufti now, he has responsibilities and cannot take things lightly.”
Despite the gravity of his new title, the essence of who he is hasn’t wavered. “His core nature of helping people has not changed. I am loving the change,” says Parth.
For Parth, playing a character burdened with such intense emotional arcs is a demanding process. He describes himself as an immersive performer who cannot simply shake off a scene the moment the director calls cut. “I am not a ‘switch on, switch off’ actor. It takes time for me to get out of my character. I have been involved in the emotion for a long time.”
This deep emotional investment was highly visible in a recent social media reel from the show that went viral. The heartbreaking sequence tracking ‘Dada Huzoor’s death scene’ struck a deeply personal chord with both the audience and the actor himself. “Some scenes are quite relatable,” Parth shares quietly. “I have seen such pain in my real life, too. As an artist, I take time to come out of it.”
Change can be daunting for a loyal audience, especially with Bhavika Sharma stepping into the pivotal role of Seher. However, Parth views this new chapter as an exciting milestone. “It’s not easy to accept any change. We take this as a challenge,” Parth notes, full of optimism for the chemistry and storyline ahead. Extending a warm request to the fans who have followed MaHer’s journey so far, he adds, “Have some patience, and you will fall in love with Mahid and Seher again.”
