Actress Jasmeet Kaur, who plays Heer in Colors TV‘s Tu Juliet Jatt Di produced by Dreamiyata Entertainment, has been receiving widespread appreciation for her emotionally intense performance in the recent episodes. The storyline, which explores responsibility, emotional trauma, and the power of self-growth, places Heer at the heart of a deeply unsettling yet impactful narrative.
Speaking about the challenging scenes, Jasmeet Kaur shared, “Heer is not loud, but she is strong. What moved me most was how she chose education and self-respect over reacting to injustice. Her silence is not weakness—it’s her survival.”
The recent track shows Heer being subjected to emotional and psychological distress when Nawab, under the influence of alcohol, blames her for his lack of focus and forcibly cuts her hair. The scene shocked viewers and marked a turning point in Heer’s journey. Jasmeet reflected on filming the sequence, saying, “It was emotionally exhausting. I wanted the audience to feel Heer’s fear, confusion, and helplessness without overdoing it. Sometimes pain is quiet, and that’s what we tried to show.”
As the episode unfolds, Heer is further manipulated when Nawab suddenly shifts his behaviour, complimenting her appearance and asking her to smile, as if the trauma never happened. On portraying this emotional contrast, Jasmeet explained, “That switch in Nawab’s behaviour is what makes the situation more disturbing. Heer understands something is wrong, but she is trying to stay composed because chaos won’t save her.”
Despite being blamed for family conflicts and made to feel guilty, Heer ultimately decides to focus on her studies as her only way out. Jasmeet emphasised the message behind this choice, stating, “For Heer, education is freedom. She believes that if she studies hard and builds her own identity, no one can take that away from her.”
The show also highlights Nawab’s downward spiral, his obsession with Heer, and his struggle with addiction. Even then, Heer attempts to help him as a friend. Jasmeet noted, “Heer’s compassion comes from her humanity, not obligation. But she also knows where to draw the line—and that realisation is crucial to her growth.”
Jasmeet Kaur’s nuanced portrayal has resonated strongly with viewers, earning praise for bringing realism and emotional depth to the character. “If Heer’s story makes even one person reflect on their own self-worth or choices, I’ll feel I’ve done justice to the role,” she concluded.
