Popular actor Avinesh Rekhi is a family man who loves to soak in the vibe of Holi along with his family and friends. Presently seen playing the role of Lord Shiv in Sony SAB’s mythological show Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey, Avinesh talks exclusively to IWMBuzz.com, where he shares his memories related to the festival, and speaks about the vibe of playing with colours.
On the significance of the festival, Avinesh tells us, “I love to visit friends during the day. I prioritise having fun with my family and friends. We share sweets and strengthen our bonds.”
Ask him about his experience trying to remove the stubborn colours from himself, and he narrates an incident that happened in 2021. “I was applied this silver colour on my face by someone on the sets. I scrubbed my face for nearly 1 hour straight to get the colour off. I used oil, besan and whatnot!! But the colour was so stubborn that it just would not go off!!
Avinesh mentions that his wife has a better aim when it comes to hitting her target with colours. Talking about his first target if he were a Holi water balloon, he says, “She has a good target, and I always happen to miss. So I would like to settle scores with her if I become the water balloon.”
On his style quotient for the day, he says, “I always save old white t-shirts specially for Holi and prefer an old pair of jeans or joggers. I certainly do not risk messing with my wardrobe.”
Avinesh likes to play with colours wholeheartedly and will not excuse anyone. He prefers to use a whole bucket of colours and believes that’s the best way to play Holi. His plan for Holi is like this. “Same as always. We celebrate with family, friends and society friends. It is always safe to play with a known set of people. I have stopped going to Holi parties after my kids were born.”
