For actress Tannaz Irani, fashion has never been about chasing trends or keeping up with every new style statement. Instead, she believes that true style comes from authenticity and wearing clothes that reflect your personality rather than letting labels define you. Known for her effortless charm both on and off screen, Tannaz says comfort and confidence have always guided her fashion choices.

Sharing her philosophy, the actress says, “I always believe that I am the brand. The clothes don’t wear me—I wear them. Even if someone styles me, I like adding my own little touch that makes the outfit feel like me. Fashion is an extension of your personality, just like your home reflects who you are.”

Despite working in an industry where appearances are constantly scrutinised, Tannaz admits she has never felt compelled to follow trends simply because everyone else is doing so. “I’ve never believed in wearing something just because it’s fashionable. I like dressing my age, choosing colours that suit me and wearing outfits that make me feel comfortable. Fashion should make a statement, but it shouldn’t make you uncomfortable.”

Interestingly, while audiences often see her in glamorous avatars, her personal wardrobe is refreshingly simple. “After spending hours getting dressed up for shoots, I love coming home, changing into my favourite jeans and a T-shirt, and just being myself. I’m not a track pants person, and I rarely wear tights. That’s my comfort zone.”

As an actor, however, she enjoys experimenting through the characters she portrays. “I’ve worn beautiful sarees, wedding outfits, ghararas, and so many elaborate costumes that I’d never normally wear. Sometimes I discover a style on set that I genuinely like, but once the shoot is over, I’m happy returning to my simple everyday wardrobe.”

Talking about monsoon fashion, Tannaz says practicality always comes first. “I love jeans with a T-shirt or a light jacket, comfortable plastic pump slippers, my umbrella and a kimono-style raincoat. I avoid flared skirts and salwar kameez during the rains because they take forever to dry.”

For Tannaz, fashion isn’t about expensive labels or following the latest craze. “You don’t need a designer outfit to look stylish. It’s about how you carry yourself and the little personal touches you bring to what you wear. That’s what truly makes fashion your own.”
