I have lost 5 to 7 kgs for my role in Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho: Abhishek Malik

Abhishek Malik talks about his new show Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho

Abhishek Malik, who is known for his exceptional work in projects like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi, and Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, is excited to return to screens with Colors’ upcoming show Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho. Talking about their show, he said, “I am extremely excited for my news show. After a long time, I am making a comeback to TV shows hence I am looking forward to it. I am playing the role of Rahul, who is a chilled-out guy. He is very fun-loving and positive in life. This character has a lot of scopes. Hence, I have been going through a lot of screenplays. I have also lost 5-7 kgs for the role as the makers wanted me to have a lean body. I resemble my character a lot as there are a lot of similarities.”

The promo of Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho resembles a previous Colors show Choti Sarrdaarni’s first promo. When asked how is this show different from it, he mentioned, “I am not aware of Choti Sarrdaarni’s concept or storyline as I have not followed the show. However, I can talk about my show. Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho revolves around the life of Katha, who is an optimistic and confident girl who works for an NGO. She gets an untimely pregnancy but in spite of the resistance from her mother, Katha is adamant and she decides to keep and raise the child by herself going against societal norms. She decides she will only go ahead with a partner who accepts her with her reality of being pregnant before marriage as she won’t hide her truth. She gives a special message and that is what makes the show different.”

Abhishek revealed his wish of exploring a character like SRK in Darr. “I have played positive and negative roles. However, I want to play a psycho role. My ex co-actor Rohit Khurana played such a role in his show Uttaran. Also, SRK essayed in Darr. Such a character is very promising and challenging. I want to explore that kind of role.”

Commenting about his happy married life, he added, “I am enjoying my married life. There are a lot of changes and adjustments. I believe adjustment and marriage are synonyms for each other. Adjustment is from both sides. We are still trying to adapt and sink in.”
