Ribbhuu Mehra, who plays the role of Nikhil in Sony Entertainment Television’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain – Naya Season, is happy to be in Mumbai for Ganesh Chaturthi. He talks about the fervour of the festival in detail in an exclusive chat with IWMBuzz.com.

Reflecting his thoughts on regional variations in celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, Ribbhuu says, “India, as a country, has diversity in culture. Coming from the North, basically Delhi, Ganesh Chaturthi is not as prominent as Diwali and Navratri. But having come to Mumbai now, it has been a beautiful experience for the past ten years to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra.”

On plans for this year, he says, “Recently, we have shifted to a new house. My sister is here, and we planned to keep Ganpati this year. However, I am busy shooting, but my sister will take charge. Ganpati will be home for one and a half days.”

On his favourite delicacies, he says, “I like all kinds of Modaks, Kaju, Coconut and Chocolate. These are the offerings that we try to do during the festival. When people come over, we offer something North Indian, Raj Kachori, Samosa, etc.”

On the significance, Ribbhuu states, “Every festival comes with a lot of positivity. There are a lot of new beginnings that happen. It is a great time to start new initiatives.”

He talks about his favourite moment during the festival, “I like the dancing that happens during Visarjan. This is the time when people meet their friends. However, I will be happier if the dancing could be less loud, so that there is no inconvenience caused on the roads.”

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all our readers!!
