As the blazing summer sun ascends in the sky and daylight stretches out into leisurely evenings, it ushers in a series of familiar beauty and health trials. The heat can transform our daily routines, leading to unwanted issues like excessive sweating, skin breakouts, painful sunburns, and an overwhelming sense of fatigue. With temperatures soaring, staying vibrant, hydrated, and radiant during this season hinges on making wise decisions and embracing a few straightforward yet effective tips. Whether it’s selecting the right skincare products or finding ways to replenish your energy, mastering the art of summertime self-care is essential for facing the challenges of the season with confidence and grace. Actress Simaran Kaur, who is presently seen in Zee TV‘s Jamai No. 1 produced by Studio LSD, talks about her summer hacks, her preferred clothing to beat the heat and more.

Says Simaran, “With the change in season, I love giving my wardrobe a little refresh. Summer is all about breezy fabrics, pastel tones, and comfy silhouettes. I switch to cottons, linens, and flowy dresses that let my skin breathe. I definitely update my wardrobe every few months—it is almost therapeutic for me! My go-to summer hacks include always carrying a face mist, using SPF lip balms and tying my hair up in fun buns or braids to keep it fuss-free and stylish.”

Talking about the efforts taken to bet the heat while shooting, Simaran explains in detail, “Shooting in the summer is definitely a challenge, especially outdoors. I make it a point to drink a lot of water and eat juicy fruits. I also carry lemon water with a pinch of salt to keep my energy levels up. Sunscreen is a must—non-negotiable! And I always keep a big hat. To beat the heat, I stick to light meals, cool showers, and try to get enough rest whenever possible. After shoot, I love rubbing some ice on my face as it gives a refreshing feel to the face and I use a cooling eye mask too.”

She talks about her favourite foods during summer. “Summer is the season of mangoes, and I am obsessed with them but in moderation, of course! I love chilled watermelon, cucumber salads, and curd rice and simple, cooling foods. I avoid oily or spicy food during the day because it just makes me feel sluggish. One of my biggest dos is staying hydrated with natural drinks and avoiding too much caffeine or fizzy drinks. I also try not to skip meals even when it’s too hot as it’s important to keep your metabolism steady.”
