Following the massive success of Naagin 7, popular actor Namik Paul is officially back on Colors TV, stepping in as the new male lead opposite Tanvi Dogra in producer Mukta Dhond and her banner Malhar Content Creators’ hit show Mannat 2.0.
Opening up about his return to the channel, Namik shares a deep sense of appreciation for his working relationship with the network, having previously featured in Kavach Mahashivratri. “It’s amazing to be back on Colors TV. I had a great time working with Naagin 7, and having worked with them before on Kavach Mahashivratri, I am genuinely excited to be part of this team once again.”
Transitioning into a major new project right on the heels of a high-profile fantasy drama naturally brings high stakes, but Namik views the shift with sharp creative enthusiasm rather than pressure. “It’s more excitement—looking forward to creating something new. Naagin was great, but now it is my past. Right now, I am looking at Mannat 2.0, what I can bring to the show and the role, and how I can connect with the team and their thoughts.”
With Mannat 2.0 introducing a brand-new narrative arc and a fresh set of dynamics, Namik addresses how he plans to respect the show’s loyal pre-existing fanbase while establishing his own distinct identity as Kabir Oberoi. “I think the new season of Mannat marks a natural evolution, ending the story of the previous couple. It is a true testament to the show’s popularity that Mannat has entered this new phase. It’s a completely new story, and Kabir Oberoi has nothing to do with past characters. Within the story and the handover, we will honour everything that the past cast has built for the show, while looking forward to a fresh start.”
While keeping major plot twists under wraps, Namik expresses genuine intrigue for the layered psychology driving his character. “The story and the characterisation of Kabir are what drew me to the role. I can’t reveal his motivations, the trauma that drives him, or his entire personality just yet—everything I’ve heard in the writing is so exciting. Without giving away any spoilers, I will say a lot of depth lies hidden in his past.”
On whether his sharp, formal, suit-based aesthetic is a deliberate personal choice, he adds with a smile. “I love wearing suits, but it’s not really my choice—it’s decided by the costume department and creatives. But if you ask me, I like the suits. Honestly, they are much more comfortable!”
Reflecting on how he handles pressure and audience expectations when taking on high-profile television roles, Namik emphasises trust in the collaborative creative process. “You always appreciate your fans, but you can’t make your career decisions trying to appease someone. Considering we are actors playing characters bound to scripts, all we can do is trust the team, trust yourself, show up, and do justice to the role at hand.”
Looking ahead to what he hopes to achieve with this exciting new television venture, Namik concludes, “My goal is simply to be part of this professional and efficient team and do good work. I have a lot of dialogues, and I am loving it. I want to create something truly special with my contribution.”
