Summer is a golden opportunity to break from daily routines, rejuvenate, and pursue hobbies that were not possible during a hectic school or work schedule. Also, the memories that the summer breaks bring along with it are mostly of our childhood, where a sense of total freedom and the simple joy of having no schedule prevailed. We at IWMBuzz.com talked to actor Sehban Azim about his childhood summer break memories and more.

Talking about his childhood summer activity that he will want to relive even now, Sehban says, “It’s difficult to zero down on one summer activity. I would want to relive all of my summer vacations. Family trips to different cities and hill stations were the best. To pinpoint one day from it is even harder. Also, I don’t think reliving them would be the same kind of experience, but having said that, I would love to relive all my moments with my father, whether it’s summer or any other season, whether when I was young or grown-up.”

On his best summer vacations, he said, “My mother was a teacher. One year, we travelled to many places in India along with her colleagues on a bus. It was a month-long trip. We would travel for hours in a bus with a VCR playing the latest movies until we reached a destination. Then we would check in and travel around the city in that bus to all the famous destinations, and then depart for a different city. We went to Rajasthan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka (Mysore), Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad) and Maharashtra. I can call it a surreal experience of travelling, lodging and travelling nonstop. It made me realise and experience the vastness and the diversity that our country holds.”

Talking about his favourite cool-down routine during summers, he stated, “My mom used to buy mangoes in bulk during summers. She used to give us shorts as costumes and make us sit in a courtyard with a bucket filled with mangoes chilled in water. We were allowed to eat as much as our bellies could handle.”

And on the chill-down routine now, he was quick to say, “Cold showers.”

Sehban wanted to learn musical instruments, stating, “This summer, I want to fall into a routine to learn a musical instrument. I’ve never been able to achieve it. I start it, and later I lose interest and get busy with other useless things. So I am aiming to master it this year.”

His dream destination to visit will be, “Dream destination would be any city or country that has a temperature lower than 15 degrees, while everything here in Mumbai is melting down due to heat and humidity.”
