Kapil Nirmal, who was recently seen playing the role of Kapil Bhatnagar in Colors TV’s popular show Mangal Lakshmi, produced by Suzana Ghai’s Panorama Entertainment, is happy to have had a successful stint in the show. As we know, the character of Kapil saw an exit with his wedding to Mangal (Deepika Singh) being called off.
Talking about his fruitful association with Mangal Lakshmi, Kapil said to IWMBuzz.com, “The character of Kapil Bhatnagar was written well, and so was the plot. The creative think-tank did not rush to get Kapil into the life of Mangal. The character was given ample time to establish his presence, and that made him and the plot more convincing. They took nearly three and a half months for Kapil to settle well in the plot, and later established the bond of Kapil – Mangal. I am happy and satisfied with the seven-month-long track with the show.”
Talking about whether Kapil’s character would have been more justified if he had been allowed to talk during the marriage fiasco, “Well, that was a good creative call. After taking the story plot to its peak with the marriage, the creative call was taken to call off the wedding. Yes, I was personally surprised that a character like Kapil did not try and solve the misunderstanding. But it was also a fact that Kapil had not told his family about Mangal’s kids staying with them, even though he had promised Mangal about it.”
Overall, Kapil expressed his happiness at making his own place in the viewers’ minds. “I got back to TV after a hiatus with Mangal Lakshmi. I am glad that the character worked well, and my efforts paid off. Now that I am back on television, I will look for a new show and not get into an ongoing show. I want to get into a scenario where the onus will lie on me, and I will be responsible for the ups and downs in the show.”
Talking about his working rapport with Deepika Singh in Mangal Lakshmi, Kapil was all praise for the actress. “Deepika works very hard. She has her full focus and concentration on her work. She works a bit differently, but works hard to meet her own expectations. Our mindsets matched on the set, and I had a great time working with her.”
Kapil will now look forward to newer beginnings and would like to take the challenge face-on, in an appealing role.
