Talented actor Mithil Jain known for his portrayals in TV shows Begusaraai, Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq, Saraswatichandra, Naagin 3 etc is creating an impact now with his negative role of Arjit Saxena in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, the Star Plus show produced by Balaji Telefilms.
Mithil has in his long career attempted positive, negative as well as comic roles and has given his best.
Says Mithil, “This role of Arjit is a mixture of all the negative roles that I have done. He is a psychopath, at the same time is very good to the family. He lends a helping hand to the Bhallas. Arjit is a mad guy who wants to seek revenge from Raman (Karan Patel) and Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi). He is on a mission of destruction. I have had really good scenes in the show and I am happy about it.”
The major challenge for Mithil in playing Arjit in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is that he is for the first time playing a business tycoon character. “I have never played a rich business guy before. So I had to imbibe the mannerisms of the business men. I have always been playing the UP’s Bhaiyya character, Thakur etc. I use a lot of voice modulations in my character. When I need to be soft before the family, I talk in a different manner. And when Arjit gets angry and wild, I need to show it differently.”
“It is a very good role to play. The character is subtle as well as loud. So I need to be on my toes and take care of all the minute nuances that need to be shown at different situations,” he adds.
Mithil is happy that Creative Director Sandiip Sikcand chose him for the role. “I was initially skeptical about the role and felt that it was a small cameo. To tell you frankly, my expectations were not that high with regards to the character. But once I took it up and saw the scenes written for the character, I understood that this role is quite meaty. Today I am very much satisfied with the role that I am playing.”
Talking about his co-stars on the show, Mithil avers, “All the co-actors are very friendly; everyone accepted me on the very first day of shoot. I shot with Karan Patel for few days and he was very welcoming. Divyanka received me really well. The whole Bhalla family is good to work with. Balaji Telefilms is a really good place to be with.”
“I would rate this role as one of the best roles of my life till date. Before this, I used to like my role in Junoon as my best. But this one in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is a dream role for any actor who is dependent on performance. On TV, male actors get very less chance to perform. But this one is different,” Mithil exclaims.
