Talented young actress Vaishnavi Prajapati, known for her impressive performances in popular television shows such as Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei, Durga Aur Charu, and Pavitra Bhagya, currently brings to life the vibrant character of Soni in Zee TV’s popular show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan.

On the occasion of Friendship Day, Vaishnavi shares her candid thoughts on what true friendship means to her, her deep-rooted bond with co-stars, and the strong support system that guides her through the entertainment industry.

The actress reflects on the qualities she values most in her bonds. “I don’t have many friends in my life, that too of my age. All my friends are older than me, or the ones with whom I have worked.”

Reflecting on past connections, Vaishnavi recalls a meaningful bond. She says, “There was one friend of mine who never used to feel afraid to correct me, irrespective of me being an actor. I am not in touch with her right now, but I hope to get in touch with her again.”

When it comes to choosing the people she holds close, Vaishnavi relies on trust and authenticity rather than overthinking intent. “I don’t think much about whether a friend is genuine or not. As for me, if a person succeeds in gaining my trust, he/she becomes my friend. I value trust and availability in a friend, and I feel that’s genuine.”

Her current project, Zee TV’s Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, has provided her with a tight-knit family both on and off the camera. “In Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, all of us are quite close. But I would like to mention an incident where I went to a party along with Sahana Di aka Namrata Pradhan Di—I loved the way we enjoyed! I also share a great rapport with Amandeep Di. In the green room, we are sisters even behind the scenes, and I really want to go on a day out with my onscreen sisters.”

Navigating the entertainment industry at a young age requires a strong foundation, something Vaishnavi credits to her core beliefs and industry guardians. “I believe in destiny, and believe that what comes my way is meant for me. In this industry, it is important to have a trust factor going with people; I seek their help always in happiness and in pain. If I am not pretending to be happy with a person, I feel I am in a safe space.”

Expressing gratitude toward those who mentor her, she adds, “I have guardian-cum-friends in Himmanshoo Ashok Malhotra and Paridhi Sharma, who played my parents in my show Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei. Apart from my family, I always believe that they will be there for me, and I would like to thank them for their guidance and support. Of course, my family stands as my biggest support! Wishing all my fans a very Happy Friendship Day!”
