For actress Muskan Bamne, who continues to win hearts with her impactful performance in Sony SAB’s long-running hit Pushpa Impossible, long hours on set are a daily reality. Navigating the high-drama environment of a television shoot requires constant mental agility and emotional readiness. This International Yoga Day, Muskan opens up about her minimalist approach to wellness, how breathwork enhances her acting, and her commitment to making mental wellness a daily priority.
With hectic television schedules making it difficult to dedicate hours to a fitness centre, Muskan doesn’t believe in making excuses. Instead, she relies on short, powerful breaks right in the middle of her workday to recharge her batteries. “You don’t always need an hour to reconnect with yourself,” Muskan shares. “Just a few minutes of stretching and deep breathing on set is enough to make me feel completely refreshed and ready for the next scene,” she says.
Muskan reveals that her yoga practice serves as a secret anchor for her craft. “Yoga absolutely helps me perform better on camera,” she notes. “It teaches you to stay calm, focused, and much more connected to your emotions. When you are centred internally, accessing those deep feelings for a scene becomes natural rather than forced.”
I want to be more consistent with meditation and truly make it a daily habit.
While yoga is deep-rooted in discipline, Muskan maintains a highly practical and realistic approach to her diet, refusing to succumb to extreme lifestyle restrictions. “Yoga definitely influences my lifestyle; it makes me choose healthier foods most of the time,” she admits. “But I don’t believe in depriving myself. I still thoroughly enjoy an occasional cheat meal—it’s all about finding that sustainable balance.”
Muskan credits her spiritual practice with helping her draw a healthy line between her work and her personal peace. “The noise outside can get overwhelming if you let it in,” Muskan reflects groundedly. “For me, yoga is like a protective shield. It helps me stay grounded, protect my inner peace, and completely focus on what truly matters rather than getting distracted by external negativity.”
As International Yoga Day inspires millions to kickstart their fitness journeys, Muskan is looking to deepen her relationship with the psychological side of the practice. “This Yoga Day, I want to be more consistent with meditation and truly make it a daily habit. Physical fitness is great, but training the mind to be still is where the real transformation happens.”
