Engineer turned actor Richa Rathore is leaving no stone unturned to entertain audiences with her role as Ghazal in Zee TV’s show Rabb Se Hai Dua. The actress who was in the corporate world reveals how acting happened by chance for her. Richa said, “I guess the film ‘Tamasha’ was a turning point in my life. After being a part in this film, I realized that acting is something that I enjoy, and I started giving various auditions, which turned my interest towards acting, as my passion. I debuted on television with a small role in Kumkum Bhagya, for which I left my job and shifted to Mumbai from Shimla. It was never my plan to switch from being an engineer to an actor. After I shifted here, I realized I was meant to be an actor and I am passionate about it.”
Talking about essaying the role of Ghazal in Rab Se Hai Dua, she said, “Playing the character of Ghazal in Rabb Se Hai Dua is a stepping stone for me to turn my dreams into reality. I believe the uniqueness of this character and the concept is very gripping. Ghazal is a character that I have never played. I love how she is a rebel, who does not believe in the rules of society and has a modern outlook toward life, that is pretty much what today’s women should be. She is truly a breath of fresh air. I am really happy with how my journey is panning out.”
When asked what preparation she did to get into the skin of the character, Richa mentioned, “Honestly, I did not have to do any special preparation for the show. What really helped me get into the skin of the character was to discuss the script, the storyline, and the layers of my character at length with the creative team and understand all the dimensions of my character. I am working on trying to get Ghazal’s diction on point, while also taking the creative team’s help to get the body language right.”
