Sumedh Mudgalkar, the young and charming actor, who played the role of Lord Krishna in Star Bharat show RadhaKrishn, is known for his impeccable acting chops on television. Recently, Sumedh essayed one of the challenging roles of his career, Darkie in the Hotstar web series Escaype Live by Siddharth Kumar Tewary. Talking about his role in the project, “I was excited to play such a versatile role. I was shocked to see myself in the look of Darkie. It was more challenging to play the character because I don’t have any similarities with it. Darkie’s persona was loud. The character was unpredictable and wouldn’t care for good or bad. I was just thinking about how to justify the role. I had immense pressure but I gave my best.”

When asked about the challenges of playing two different roles Drakie and Lord Krishna, he added, “It was very challenging to simultaneously portray Krishna and Darkie. However, when I used to step into the role of Darkie onset, the confidence used to come on its own. I just had to tell myself that I can do it. Switching from Darkie to Krishna was pretty much easy. However, Krishna to Darkie was very difficult. Having said that, I hope the viewers will understand and appreciate the challenge that I have taken and the efforts that I have put into this character.”

Commenting on his parent’s reaction to his role of Darkie, he mentioned: “My parents were glad and felt fortunate that I was essaying the role of Krishna. Suddenly when they learnt about my role of Darkie, they were taken aback. I explained to them how amazing and challenging the role was. My mother said it is good that I opted for a different and good role but she likes me in Krishna’s avatar. My parents want me to essay goodie goodie roles on screen. Even during Ashoka, she used to ask me to not beat anyone, I used to explain to her that it is just acting. I am just essaying a role.”
