Karwa Chauth is a festival steeped in happiness, not just as a ritual but as a heartfelt celebration of love, commitment, and family bonding. The happiness around this festival comes from several key aspects of the day. It is a day dedicated to reinforcing the love, respect, and emotional connection between a husband and wife. The collective evening puja is a serene and happy moment. Women exchange thalis, sing traditional songs, and listen to the Vrat Katha (story) together, sharing their devotion. Actress Parineeta Borthakur, who plays Chandrika Singh Chauhan in Zee TV’s Vasudha, has been following this ritual in a heartfelt way every year.
She says, “Karwa Chauth has always been one of the most beautiful and meaningful festivals for me. It’s not just a ritual, but a heartfelt celebration of love, trust, and the bond we share as a couple. Every year, I look forward to this day, from adorning myself in traditional attire and applying mehendi to performing the pooja and waiting for the moonrise with my husband by my side. There’s something truly magical about that moment when you finally see the moon, look at your partner through the chalni, and break the fast together.”
“It feels like a silent promise of care, companionship, and prayers for each other’s happiness and long life. My husband and I cherish this festival because it gives us a chance to pause amidst our busy lives and express gratitude for the love we have built over the years” she adds.
Talking about the significance, she says, “For me, Karwa Chauth is not about one person fasting for the other, it’s about celebrating the strength of a relationship, where both partners wish for each other’s well-being with equal love and devotion.”
Happy Karwa Chauth to all!!
