Sri Lankan singer Yohani, who became an Internet sensation after the release of her Manike Maghe Hithe cover, appeared on the first Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 15. The singer sang her viral song Manike Maghe Hithe on the stage of the show. She also helped Salman Khan sing along but he was struggling with the pronunciation of a few words in the song, after which both Salman and Yohani burst out into laughter.
Talking about her meeting with superstar Salman, she said, “It was crazy. We (Sri Lanka) are huge fans. We watch most of the Bollywood movies. Even my mother is a huge fan of Salman Khan. Meeting and sharing a stage with him was fantastic. I was watching him from backstage and I was like ‘OMG, this is actually happening’. I met him a few days ago but still feels like a dream. If I ever get a chance to do playback for any of his movies, I would of course do it.”
The Manike Maghe Hithe singer also spoke about becoming an internet sensation overnight, she added, “I have still haven’t realized how big it is. It’s still sinking in as everything was quick. I think these few months have been amazing and overwhelming. I have been working on music for a few years now. I am also planning to release a new album soon. So the overall journey as a singer has been incredible.”
Finally, she thanked her fans, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my fans and followers all over the country. I have worked on an English track which will come out in November. I hope everyone likes it and shower their love again.”
