Ganesh Chaturthi is a vibrant festival celebrating new beginnings, devotion, and the joyful arrival of Lord Ganesha into homes and communities. Marking the festive spirit with grandeur and warmth, Zee TV hosted the Zee Rishton Ka Mela Ganpati Special, bringing together its television stars to share their heartfelt devotion and nostalgia surrounding the festival. Among them, actor Mishkat Varma, currently capturing hearts as Ram in Zee TV’s Dilo Ki Ram Leela, reflected on how the festival played an unexpected yet pivotal role in shaping his perseverance and dedication as an artist.
Recalling his childhood festivities, Mishkat reminisced about the bustling energy of his neighbourhood pandals and the yearly traditions that fueled his competitive spirit. “One of my fondest memories of Ganpati is from back when Ganpati Bappa used to arrive in our building every year. We used to host a grand dance competition, and without fail, I would participate every single time. The humorous part of it all was that I lost every single year! But far from discouraging me, every setback only fueled my drive to push harder, practice more, and refine my steps.”
For Mishkat, those early festive competitions became the foundation for his strong work ethic and artistic growth in the years to come. “Even today, I am constantly striving to evolve into a better dancer and performer. Looking back, I realise those childhood Ganpati celebrations taught me invaluable lessons about resilience—they showed me how to embrace failure, continuously polish my craft, and never stop trying.”
